American composer Thomas Deering was so moved
by the story of the International Peace Gardens
that he composed and dedicated his "Rhapsody
in Color" to the foundation.
At his request, the foundation created
a cultural
arts scholarship program in 1992 and sponsored
music competitions.
Mr. Deering performed this
wonderful musical
tribute at events held at the
Canadian and German
embassies in Washington, D.C.
and at Carnegie
Hall in New York City.
