Oswego Peace Garden

Located at Leotta-Seaway Trail Park and gateway to Oswego Harbor Rail Trail, the Oswego Peace Garden has a pedestrian bridge and trail spanning the Oswego River and the Oswego Harbor. The park includes benches to enjoy the scenic vista, and the interpretive panels about the history of Oswego, War of 1812. Many flowers can be enjoyed, like the Orange and yellow marigolds and zinnias that represent peace and freedom. The Syracuse orange, SUNY Oswego gold, green, and red geraniums represent sacrifices made by Oswego Patriots. Flowers do change with the seasons. At present time the Oswego Peace Garden is a 25-foot diameter circle but by 2012 it will be expanded to an oval shape, 25 feet deep and 40 feet wide. Arrangements need to be made in advance if you would like to request an orientation and (or) guide. Please contact Anthony Leotta, Oswego City Engineer @ 315-342-8154 or by email @ tleotta@oswegony.org or contact Kelly @ 315-349-8322 or by email @ kelly@oswegocounty.com For more information and list of nearby attractions, check out our digital map at the following link http://digital.turn-page.com/issue/47855 More »
